Meet James B. Hannon, Global Technical Director

Marine Expertise Behind the Power of bpGlide™

bpGlide™ continues to grow as a trusted name in high-performance lubricants, driven by the dedication of its team and the expert guidance of James B. Hannon, Global Technical Director.

A highly accomplished marine engineer, Mr. Hannon brings over 40 years of experience in the global lubricants industry, spanning the automotive, industrial, and marine sectors. He is widely recognized for his deep technical expertise and strategic insight into lubricant technologies and applications.

Mr. Hannon spent 26 years at ExxonMobil, where he held senior technical and leadership roles across multiple business units. During his tenure, he specialized in lubricant formulation, application, and performance optimization for diverse global markets. Prior to that, he worked for seven years as a consulting engineer at DuPont, gaining in-depth experience in power generation and utility systems. His career began in marine engineering and ship operations, where he developed a solid foundation in mechanical systems and maritime performance.

With his extensive background, hands-on knowledge, and respected leadership, Mr. Hannon plays a pivotal role in advancing bpGlide™’s mission—ensuring its lubricant technologies consistently meet the evolving needs of modern engines, emission systems, and OEM standards worldwide.
